Hi all, I appreciate your comments. While these spots may not be rust, I'm starting to think it is perhaps a chemical reaction occuring on the paint finish of the car.
1. The paint does not appear to be cracked anywhere.
2. As I was washing the car yesterday, these spots didn't just wash off with a sponge. There are hundreds of these little spots everywhere on the lower paneling and only seem to come off with determined effort with your fingernail.
3. The presence of these spots seems to exactly match the pattern of salt grime on the car before washing it.
Does anyone know what kind of road "salt" they use in Mass? Some states use regular rock salt, but others use different formulations that are supposedly more enviro-friendly.
Thanks,
pogeybait
