YOur mileage sounds low, but I agree with other posters who state that the break in period on Saabs tends to be longer than most. I would suggest that you first do a highway trip and fill all the way up, set your odometer, drive a few hundred miles and then fill up and calulate your mileage the old fashioned way, just to make sure you are not getting an error from the SID. It is highly unlikely, but worth eliminating from the equation. On a different trip, while driving on a highway at about 65, see what you get on the SID after resetting the MPG indicator with the CLEAR button. A realistic figure under those conditions should be 30. If you are not getting at least 30 with the car at steady speed and not going uphill, I would suspect you might have a problem. My Aero now gets about 32.5 under these conditions, and has about 27K miles (2002). When new, it could only get about 28.5 under the same conditions. All of my Saabs have had a long break in period to achieve the best mileage.
