I have only used Onstar once. I was hungry and asked for advise as to where a sandwhich shop was. I was unimpressed with the results. Perhaps if I get lost it could come in handy, but I haven't really had a need yet.

All that said you may wonder why I am concearned with the whine issue. I first noticed the problem _without_ using Onstar. The people I called said they could hear the whine. I could not hear it in the car. I had a friend call my home phone from the car and I verified that this was true.

While trying to solve that problem Jim and I encountered the audible whine in the car while using Onstar problem. He has been working very hard to try to fix it. I am not concearned about the whine issue because I use Onstar a whole heck of a lot, but if I do use Onstar, why should I hear the annoying whine? It is a soluble problem and I choose to try to solve it rather than ignore it.

Dano, even if you don't care, can you do Jim and I a favor? With your car running initiate an Onstar request and listen for the whine. Please post your results. Thanks in advance.
