I'm on side here too.

I looked at the Passat W8, Audi Allroad, Volvo T5 and decided on the SAAB 9.5 Aero in black with blacked out windows mmmm lovely.

My .02 worth - Room for the back seat. I sit there quite often when my wife or daughter chauffeurs me about... usually after a few pints.. and I found the SAAB was the only one of the group that offered a reasonable seat for my 6'2" frame. The back seat "rules" to quote my teenage daughter.

Oh yes the car handles so much better in the corners especially the tight bits. Not quite as good as the new 9.3 with the active rear end but close. The ACS is a wonder of engineering and allows my stupid driving mistakes to be forgiven.

I have a whole 433 kms on the clock since last week when I took delivery and boy am I pumped.

I also live in the Canadian north where we get 10 months of winter and two months of lousy skiing. I run four snow tires and managed to make a deal where the snows were in the "trunk" on rims. Now all I do is drive into the dealer change the oil and get the tires "mounted" - for free for life! such a deal. There's service for ya. The wheels are 16" and are Hakkapillitas (sic?). They work great on my other SAAB a '99 9.3 and save wear on the summer tires. I'm not sure that all seasons and FWD are the way to go.

My second choice was the W8, price was the same and it has FWD. The added complexity of the 4 more cylinders and complicated drive train scared me. The fit & finish was similar but it had no back seat electric seat (see above) and chrome YUK!!!

I'll post a foto ASAP and when OTHELLO is standing still.....

Jim
03 SAAB 9.5 AERO, OTHELLO, cause it's black and sooo cool.
99 SAAB 9.3 SE, Wally Gator, 'cause it's green
