Sorry for the ticket. That stinks. I travel lots of highways in my 9-5, and I use the "speed warning" setting on the SID all the time. I set it for about 78 mph for interstate driving, and it has saved my butt several times. It gives out a gentle beep when my foot gets too heavy, and that way I am not looking at the speedo all the time but I am also traveling under the tolerance level for the highways I travel. I've never been pulled over doing 78 in a 65mph zone (or in a 55 zone for that matter).
And yes, the 9-5 feels very solid and smooth at high speeds. 80mph+ is comfortable and safe in this vehicle. It is a great highway cruiser. And i is very easy to look down and notice you are doing 85 mph when you thought you were doing 65!
