Fill your tank and just mildly accelerate up to a steady highway cruise speed, and then reset your SID display so that the mileage figure you are now showing is truly representative of the highway mileage. I would expect it to be above 25, but probably below 30. If your number is significantly lower under those conditions, you MIGHT have a problem, but I think that only steady state highway numbers are the type you should compare with others, including mine. When you compare what everyone calls "city" driving, you really don't know how the car is being driven and what each owner's definition of easy or hard is. My numbers? 2002 Aero with the "great" auto trans, about 26.8 overall, and usually 31.5 on the highway, obviously, premium fuel only. Those numbers are a combination of summer blend and winter blend fuel as well. Here in the northeast, the winter blended fuel knocks about 1-2 MPG off the numbers. For my overall number,I would have to say that I do drive with a very conservative right foot, and rarely put the pedal to the plastic. When the car was new, mileage was about 10 % less and it took about 10K miles for the mileage to get to the level it is at now. All of my prior Saabs took a long time to run in the engine.
Hope this helps
