My '03 Aero is the first auto trans car I have ever purchased for myself in 35+ years. Its a fine auto, particularly in sport mode, but the paddle shifters are a complete gimmick. In the real world you actually have to shift sometimes in a turn where your hands are away from the paddles. A manual mode with shifting by gear leaver would have been better, particularly if it shifted quickly. The trans shifts faster in sport mode than manual mode. There is a noticed delay in manual. After 13 months with the car, I might use manual mode a few times a month now just for the novelty.
