I agree!!! You'd expect a SWEDISH car company to have a bulletproof windshield washing system. But my 900 and 99 and 96's all had systems just as lame as on the 9-5.
1) it is a set of jets that get clogged and only spray onto one part of the windshield. My Ford truck has a spray jet ON the wiper arm, so it sprays across the whole windshield. Hey, that's modern technology, so why can't Saab do it the same way?
2) the jets are easy to hit when scraping snow, and thus become unaligned. So you are cruising along, hit the washer, and it sprays at the bottom of the window (arrrGGGGG!). Then you have to find a tiny pin to adjust them!
3) the check valves go bad all the time. I must have replaced at least 10 in my Saab lifetime. Never on any Ford.
4) I can count on two hands the number of times I've been driving my $30K Saab and am leaning out the driver's side window trying to clean off the windshield.
