95 900 SE V6
I am currently on the market for a 1999-2001 SAAB 9-5 and am reviewing this issues myself. I currently have a 1995 SAAB 900 SE V6. The engine was running like a dream until the timing belt broke. Luckily, no valve or head damage. (The belt broke while sitting at a stop sign.) However, the engine hasn't been the same since. It was rebuilt by two separate Indies and cost me over $3k to repair. Even after the money was spent on the repairs, the car was never the same. I LOVED my 9000's I4 and have decided to get the 9-5 in the 4-cylinder model rather than the V6. I hope this was helpful. By the way, my SAAB 900se now has over 150k on it and still running well, it just passed inspection. Which is the reason for the third SAAB in a row.
