The Japs have generally built some of the most reliable cars, but what if that's not enough to make you (or especially me) wanna' buy one?

The 9-5 has been well above average, the top European sedan, and reliabilty has been the silver lining to 9-5 ownership. At last you can own a unique European car without the reliability downside.

IMO the Saabs or more durable in the long run. Maybe it's my bias, but you see a disproportinate number of old 900s on the road. The paint and interiors hold up well and they're not to expensive, and therefore worth fixig, to keep on the road. As good or better than other European brands and again IMO much better than older Jap cars. Less trendy adds to the staying power too.
