Oil reservoir.....not necessary any more....... I believe the water cooling continues after shut down owing to the syphon effect. And I believe there's an oil reservoir so as to continue the supply of oil too.
Before modern Saab turbos were upgraded to these specs, letting the turbo settle down was a good idea, but IMO that's no longer necessary.
You can never argue with the logic "It's still a good idea", but sometimes life gets so full of those recommendations you have to trim somewhere. IMO modern turbo technology makes idling down unnecessary.
Turbos used to be fragile, not anymore, but people hang on to good ideas.
