I was about to write a long winded rant in support of what you just said, but could not have said it better. Saab not only happens to be a highly reliable vehicle, but as a company, they probably bend over more in areas of customer good will than most. The key word there is "CUSTOMER" Saab's customer is someone on whom they have made a profit, not just anyone driving their car. The biggest problem that they have had over the years( and I say this with apologies to all the pipe smokin tweed coated MIT professors out there)is that for years, they had 350K mile cars owned by pipe smokin tweed coated MIT professors who wanted the car to last forever and to be handed down through two or three generations. Try taking a Toyota or a Nissan in with 4000 miles over the warranty, or three months over, and see what their reaction is. Saab is more than fair in dealing with original owners, but like thier competitors, has no need to support the used car market with warranty accomodations.
