Think Liam S. got it right. Saab should make their vendors responsible for making better, longer lasting parts. As it's not the vendor for the particular part that we might be upset with - it's the Brand, that will look bad in the consumers mind.
Retailers take this approach all the time in their designs and continual negotiations with their vendors. Size doesn't always determine the clout. But with GM's backing they should be able to get their vendors in line easily.
