First of all, the Hunter balancer does have the road force feature, but it can either be used or not used, fdepending on the shop's policy and charges. The tire dealer near me that has it charges 10 to do a wheel without the road force, and 20 with it. Why the difference. Using the road force roller allows the machine to calulate the high and low spots of both the tire and the rim,and in the event that it shows that the tire needs to be dismounted to rotate it to the correct place, there is more labor involved. This makes some sense to me. If you have a particularly complicated balance issue that has been tried elsewhere, it pays to use the road force method.
On another note, having owned two 9-5's now, and driven perhaps another 20 of them, I have never been in one that I felt was totally smooth, certainly not between 60 and 80 miles per hour. There is also a very subtle chassis vibration at just under 40 that I have seen in all of them. Just my personal thoughts in comparing the car to others I have owned and driven, but I just do not think you can get a butter smooth ride out of this car. If you are compareing your current problem with the way you knew your car previously rode, that is different, but I cannot recall one that I drove that did not vibrate at highway speed.
