Yesterday, with great anticipation, we poured various fluids into the motor, tranny, brakes/clutch, and P/S; hooked up the battery, and started the car.

(This is after a 2-week rest, and the '86 SPG is sporting a freshly rebuilt tranny, brand new clutch, clutch slave, throwout bearing, clutch hydraulic line, timing chain tensioner, harmonic balancer, belts, hoses, ball joints, tie rod ends, urethane suspension bushings, skid plate, carpets, trunk lining, and dashboard)

A coupling in the power steering line was stripped or cross-threaded or something like that, and proceeded to hemmorrage fluid all over the floor. I wish I had a "dictionary of swedish curses" on hand. No test drive, the car stayed in the garage bay, and we'll get a new part and try again this evening.

During the skid plate install, my mechanic also found that the A/C condensor was damaged, and would need to be replaced. Well, I guess that I won't disrupt the continuum as much as I had origionally planned.

I feel like I did when a beautiful and crazy woman kept standing me up for dates, and then re-scheduling for the following night. Yes, it was eventually worth the wait :o) but didn't hold up in the long run. Luckily, I've got a long-term relationship with my car, and am willing to make sure this project is completed correctly.

By the way, 'Roo- have you determined exactly what is leaking in your P/S??? If the seals in your rack are toast, there is only one real fix. However, it could be the hydraulic lines themselves. I've been following your saga, and it seems as though your leak only leaks when the system is pressurized. Have you checked all of the hose fittings?
