Undoubtedly, from the description, this would make the perfect tool for the job.
My suspicion, however, is that it would take me more than half an hour to make the tool, which I'd probably use only once in my life. That's about how long it took for me to tap the seal in with a hammer, and I didn't have to mess with wood, drills, sawdust, etc. :>
Guess it depends on which you'd rather do: tap monotonously on the seal while bent painfully over your engine compartment periodically cussing in frustration, or mess around with plywood, a jigsaw, drills, paper templates, and the like to make the handy-dandy tool. It's something of a hassle either way, I think!
