I am not sure about what was celebrated in 1982. There are no bells ringing at all. If memory serves me right there was a 1988 anniversary edition of metallic grey three-door 900 to celebrate 40 years of manufacturing. I only worked for a couple of years at Saab before university to save up some money. In the end I worked as "stand in" in the factory filling voids for people being sick or on leave, etc. The production unit for the lower part of the dashboard was one of the places I did most of my hours. If you look at one for a 1986 model and there are red markings, it is probably mine... (Which reminds me to have a look at the donor car behind the barn... It is a cheapskate fivedoor 900 GL) I took no part in it myself but on occasion people wrote VERY rude messages aimed for the people further down the line on those panels on the hidden surface. You can imagine the noise it created in Trollhättan...
