Having done this [objective was really to swap the windshields between a 99 and C900, turned out they were slightly different, so had to put both back], the only thing I would add is between step 1 and 2, is to remove the flexible moulding filler strip. The strip keeps the shape from collapsing in use, but allows the glass to be removed if it's pulled out.
I used [if I remember correctly] a 1x2 strip and carpeting to distribute the pressure load across a wide area and worked the edges in small steps. You want to avoid putting pressure point anywhere that would bend the glass. I wouldn't use anything with a lot of weight or mass.
I did have the use of a 'rubber lubricant' - a sort of water-based oily compound to help re-assembly and made it easier to work the moulding lip back in place. Didn't use any sealer [since factory installation didn't have any] - just cleaned it real well. Didn't leak after, either.
