The cheapest way of checking for leaks is the propane torch method. With the engine idling, play gas from a propane torch (unlit, of course :-) along the vacuum lines and vacuum nipples. When the engine speeds up, you've found the leak. I've used a length of clear vinyl tubing as an extension from the propane tank to make it easy to move around.
You can get an ultrasonic sensor for a few hundred $.
Visual inspection doesn't catch a lot of leaks, though.
Most of the hoses are 3.5 mm ID. I think that the 3 going to the APC solenoid are 6 mm.
If the vacuum hoses are mostly original, you may want to replace them and the rubber bushings on general principles. In 14 years, they can dry, shrink, and crack more than you want to think in the heat bath of an 900T engine bay. The rubber bushings get soaked with oil and shrink.
I went to NOPI and got 25' of silicone vacuum hose for $25 to have some left over as spare. No doubt other speed shops carry it. It can be a little strange parking an SPG in the lot at one of those places (a bit too civilised a vehicle, you understand :-) The 6 mm silicone hose is about $2 a foot.
If you go this route, take one hose off at a time to use as a template.
You can also get a premeasured set of hoses from one of the sponsors - Saabsavior.com
Another source of vacuum leak I just remembered (coffee cup in hand) is the valve cover gasket. If there's oil around the edge, it's probably leaking vacuum.
