The fork that slides the reverse gear in place might be bent or??? Make sure you take your time on going into the reverse, otherwise you can and will make it worst. You can remedy this by drain some if the tranny oil, remove the cover with the dip stick side, remove the fork lever and replace it with a newer fork. If you look closely to the fork, you will see a shape of an "U" that U shape might be worn which might not give you enough leverage for you to shift the reverse gear into place. This is a quick fix if your reverse gear is not all chewed up.
