NT,

You will have bigger "issues" to deal with rather than fumes. I had the engine/trans out of my 90T and never plugged them! Duct tape probably a safer bet though, but don't worry too much about it as long as you have a functioning garage door that you open up to vent anything.

I pulled the radiator as well, good move, you will be grateful once you start removing/re-installing things. Pay CAREFULL attention to where you sling the engine assy. As I recall, you need a ratio of about 2:1 on chain to correctly balance the assy. before you pick up; long side to the belt end of the engine & short side to the clutch, as it is very nose heavy. Correct lift points are in Bentley.

3 of my C900s use a very large hex bit to unscrew the trans drain; can't remember size but it was one larger than a standard wrench kit & I had to
buy it special at NAPA. It can take some torque to get loose & cheater bar could be helpful. Either a 12 or 14mm hex???

I wouldn't sweat the torque wrench calibration, as most of them check fairly close IMHO. I've not ever calibrated one in 20 years of auto wrenching.
