Woes of Street Parking, Volume XVII
Some jackass apparently did a hit and run job on my C900, parked on the street. Looks like they either hit the tailpipe itself, or the back bumper and shook the tailpipe enough to break loose the joint between the rear muffler and the pipe that runs into it on the front. As a result, my rear muffler now dangles perilously from the attachment clip, and naturally my exhaust makes noise and leaks. I'm grateful the damage wasn't worse, but still pissed.
Two questions:
1) Should I order the replacement unit and install it myself? Never done any exhaust jobs at all...easy? Or should I take it into the shop?
2) What can I use to hold it together in the meantime? Will duct tape work, or will that melt and leave a mess?
I'll leave the rant about irresponsible jerks who hit people's cars and drive away for another day.
Cheers,
'Roo
