The pins are on the connector that plugs into the APC box. IIRC, if you look carefully in a good light (with the moon in the right phase, etc ;-) you can see the numbers on the connector. To be sure, I'll have to dig out the wiring harness I have in the garage.
What do you have for spark plug wires? Bougicords? They have shielding that keeps them from transmitting RF signals that the APC box interprets as knock.
Just for the heck of it, have you cleaned out the APC solenoid with carb cleaner or WD40? If you haven't, try it and see what happens. After a decade or so, they tend to get gummy and not move all the way when they're powered.
