I went through the same process you did removing stuff, although I left the
stereo in. The aftermarket valve looked just like the Saab part but it
failed in less than a year. Twice....That's right... Twice....... So I did
the whole job Three times in less than three years but the last time I spent the extra cash for the Saab piece which has held up just fine so far.
Knock on large piece of wood, cross fingers etc etc keep an eye on the
top end of the aftermarket valve, that's where both of mine started to leak.
