Forgive my being blunt but:
First of all, why would you let a tow truck pull your car in gear? And what respectable driver would forget to ask you to put the car in neutral? I would consider forcing his company to effect repairs if that is what occured.
If it is a valve tap sound and not a timing issue, your car has oil rails attached by plastic connectors to the head. It is a stupid design. The oil ports pull away as the plastic degrades and breaks. The plastic bits cost about $20 and are an easy install, if that is your problem.
