Quick IMPORTANT question about coil spring removal>>>

I have the coil spring compressed (still in the car) with the spring compressor, and am now removing the bolt that holds the lower spring seat to the upper a-arm. The spring is still sitting on top of the seat.
Can I slide the seat out with the spring on top of it without any fear that the spring will then expand any more beyond what is already compressed once the seat is completely free of the a-arm?
The top of the spring has already pulled down from the underside of the fenderwell (bump stop and spacer still attached to it), and there are probably 2 runs of the spring not compressed that are sitting on the seat on the bottom (can only get the compressors around the 3-4-5-6-7 runs). The complete middle of the coil spring has been compressed.
Am I safe to pull the spring out by sliding the seat off the a-arm now?
