I recently had the same fun, I attached the manifold first, then bolted the turbo on. I fitted the oil return pipe after that and used a little silicon grease on the 'o' ring to help it into the block. After trying the night before with no joy I found the silicon grase did the job and it 'popped' in. Then simply bolt the pipe onto the turbo, remembering the gasket of course!
