I had the same issue. At the time I did not have the manifold off so I had a real time with it. I was in the middle of installing a 9k ic. So I was able to get to the bolts real easy. they just wouldn't line up!! And I am scraed to death of crossthreading the bolt holes. I ended up using a jack, and carfully lifting the turbo support bracket with the jack. Not very far, maybe an inch.(Movement in the jack)This only helped in lining up the return line. It was still a trick to get it right. Still leaked after but only due to a bad/reused gasket. Since then I cracked the head,(Couple weeks ago.) I went out and replaced all the gaskets I could find and get too. I still need to put it all back together. I'll try to let you know how it turns out this time.
You'd think that return line was a support for the turbo instead of an oil line.
