RS, I did not receive your e-mail. Have not yet re-checked the cam shaft timing and chain tension because I thought we were pretty careful about that. Could the problem involve a vacuum leak in any of the turbo plumbing? Also my mechanic changed the throttle stop screw position trying to deal with the idle problem. Of course that did not work and I have tried to reset it at the original position, could I not have it set properly? I checked my setting against continuity on the TPS termials, and they seem correct. Further, I note that the LH system is trying to cope with the dropping idle whenever I let the car idle, and sometimes it will correct before the car dies and bring it up to a normal idle. Usually, though RPM's just drop to quickly and the car, of course, dies. It is almost as if the AIC valve was operating too slowly. I will pull the valve cover and recheck the cam timing and chain tension, especially if you are still convinced timing is the culprit. The mechanic that helped me do the head gasket is resisting pulling the valve cover, but nothing else has worked.
