Your '89 convertable is a turbo I suppose. Putting a turbo (spg) unit in an S car requires considerable additional swappage. When a power unit comes out that's the best time to replace the front crankshaft seal, oil pump o'ring and gears if needed, water pump, alternator bushings, power steering hoses and all that stuff that's no fun with the engine in the car. If the conv. needs a steering rack it's way easier with the engine out too. Freshen the seals and gaskets on the spg tranny while it's out also. These are mostly pretty cheap parts and later you'll be glad you did them when it was easiest. What sort of mileage is on the spg unit?
