rebuilding 2.1 L? Overbore cylinders?

Hi All
Recently I had to remove my 2.1 liter from my 92 900. I have located the terminal problem (rod bearing) and am ready to replace it. I figure in the mean time I should really take advantage of having the engine out and performance tune it.
I am thinking I could get low clearance pistons in order to lower my compression ratio and then later turbocharge. I want to do other things as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? A hot cam grind perhaps? Anything helps. In addition, what absolutely NEEDS to be replaced before reinstalling the engine? timing chain etc.
Thanks alot
Rob
