...I am also switching to a Mitsu SMIC for better flow and cooling.
As far as water injection; Water=free, higher octane=$. Water injection acts in 2 ways. It lowers temps in the head. Lower temps prevent engine knock (which is really a form of dieseling). The second way is that water in the explosion is heated past its vapor point so it expands into a gas. This expansion pushes against the piston in addition to the gasoline explosion.
Some people run methanol through the injection systems. Methanol has a high octane rating.
