The TPS in your LH2.2 system does just two things-
One set of contacts are closed when the throttle is closed to tell the ECU that the engine should be in idle.
The other set of contacts closes at near wide open throttle. This tells the ECU to add fuel (fuel enrichment), because it's pretty obvious that you intend on going real fast, and more fuel always comes in handy.
The Cruise Control is entirely independent of the TPS. The only way they are linked is through the throttle. The CC has an actuator in the dashboard that pulls on the gas pedal with a little chain. If you open the throttle butterfly by hand, you may hear that chain moving around behind the firewall.
