its all what you want in the toy,
heck my toy is my daily driver, for me non anti lock breaks
but wanted the 4 disk brakes,
then the turbos, some with just oil cooled
others with water and oil
they all have there miner tweaks its just what are you looking for in your toy, is more horsepower the factor, or brakes
as lars post: want a seat belt to buckle you up or you want to do it,
every years modle has there own little twist, so for someone to tell you what to avoid would only be that persons idea of there toy and not yours,
take some time and look at the 85`s then look and see what the 86`s and 87`s added then look at the 88`s and 89`s and so on untill you find the toy that
bests fits your ideas of the best toy
and miles dont play a factor once you start to build it back to itself, or your idea of custom, when finished it should run the same as off show room floor,
just hit 261,000 miles with my toy and she runs like i just went out and bought her new, but this is only after 3 years of fine tuning the motor, becouse of owners before me that beat the car into the ground, but yes now i am starting paint and suspension,
now before i started building my toy, anyone else would look at it and say it straight junk, where i saw gold.
its all good cause it was the toy that was ment for me
now way someone can tell you what your toy should look like
or what it should have or not have
only think ill say to look out for, is the 1 thing that can destroy a toy
( rust )
if there was a spot of rust why start building with it, ok maybe a spots fine but more then that, no way.
but then again you might like or dont mind rust cause you have a auto body shop where you can take the cars rust and sand it down, and rebondo it
or perhaps you`ll like the challenge of replaceing the rusted out items
however you cant pick a bad toy, that is if its a saab 900 (classic that is)
