The only sign of life I got was from my original antenna motor. The new one never made a peep, so I don't know if its functional or not. I really didn't get a chance to play around with it before (hopefully just) blowing the radio fuse. As you said, it would have been nice to have a helper with me at the time.

I actually did buy a new mast from Eeuroparts, but my garage told me it wouldn't fit and that they thought there might be some broken pieces in the motor itself that was preventing it from accepting the mast cord.

At the time he was telling me this I was standing on a beach in Florida 1500 miles away listening to him run down a list of about $3000 worth of things that needed to be done to the car. My antenna problems were the least of my worries at the time, so I didn't pay much attention to his diagnosis.

I'm going to give it another go tomorrow. Hopefully it's just some fuses. I'll definitely make sure I ground it before trying again. I wish there was a way to test the new motor outside of the car.

Being a relatively new Saab owner, it seems the Bentley Manual is the Bible and I should get one ASAP.
