No Back Up Lights

I noticed tonight they do not come on. Pushed the cig lighter in and also does not work and is stuck in. The fuse is good.
I don't know how long they've been out, but just before I did notice I was twisting the two light bulbs in the dash that illuminate the tack and speedometer. They have not lit up for some time but were not blown, and just need a little twist from time to time...
Don't know if that would have any effect or not. Thoughts?
