here's whats happening, when driving shifting through the gears
once the car hits 3rd there is what sounds like a passenger inner driver knock, its not much but with windows up fan and music off it can be heard,
when shifted into 4th and when gas is pressed on the driver knock becomes more pronounced, when shifted into 5th and gas pressed the inner driver knock stays as loud as 4th, when in 5th cruising at 70,80,90 there is no inner driver knock, vibration, or any-kind of rattle, just when getting to the desired speed, (1st,and 2ed has no knocking)
now let me fill you in on before the knocking
had installed a rebuilt axle, cv bearing not new on the axle, the inner companion shaft is new, and carrier barring new.
after some massive work to the front end i had to set alignment
when i thought to have it very close (gr8 gas mileage, no pulling) i took a 2000 mile trip, at 2500 i thought to get the alignment checked,
before i took the car in there was no knocking, after the alignment they said i was very close but i was off (in car my steering wheel was slightly to the right, they set the alignment which made the wheel slightly to the left of center, now after 200 miles the inner cv started this strange knocking, after some thinking i thought to bring the alignment back to where i had it to see if the knock is still there, got in the wheel we;; and twisted the rack arm, brought the steering wheel to center after 30 miles there is no more knock.
now what im asking, is it the inner cv making all this noise and just what the hecks going on?
