"I think I speak on behalf of everyone by thanking you for guinea-pigging this."
Many thanks! However, given everything else that I'm doing to my SPG (literally replacing/modifying everything from the ground up) this honestly didn't seem to be a particularly radical endeavor. I completely respect the fact that many are likely unreceptive to spending this amount of money on a dash but it made little sense to me to drive around with cracks in my dash given all of my other upgrades.
"Couple questions -- did they actually fill the cracks in teh dash material (ie mine has deep cracks)."
No, not at all. They literally strip the dash down to the frame and rebuild it from there. My understanding is that they use a very high density closed-cell foam over the frame, cover it with a strong adhesive, apply a thicker than OEM vinyl covering (which can be any color you want), and secure it via a thermo vacuum process.
Perhaps the primary reason that the OEM dashes crack is that the foam is open-celled. Hence, it expands and contracts based on the temperature; the cumulative effect of which is stress fractures in the vinyl.
