Vern - here's how.
DEFINITELY reuse the 2 nuts. Its easier. if you have air tools, the other way's great, but without them, just reuse.
Also -- if you're still having probs with the shaft turning, there's a Lisle tool pretty readily available at auto parts stores (I found one in middle of nowhere florida, so in big cities, its probably around). It's a GM shock removal tool. It's Lisle 20400 i believe. It goes on the top and holds it... and it works like a charm on c900's. Worked on BOGEs for me, I haven't tried with bilsteins or other brands FYI
