Either your Air Mass Meter (AMM) is toast, or your Oxygen Sensor (O2) has failed. My money's on your AMM... Got a spare to try? Make sure it has the same part number - mixing them up can fry your ECU.
By all means, get the timing squared away with a light, but the ECU doesn't communicate with the timing system on our old cars.
