Of course since I had a replacement part and a backup battery, the entire trip home went off without a hitch (Murphy's law, 1st corollary). Tomorrow I can return the unused battery and swap the brushes during halftime of the football game. Thanks again for all of the tips, glad I didn't need to put them to use in an emergency situation. Its all part of the continuum -- if you are prepared for the breakdown, nothing will happen. If you are not, it is almost certain.
