I just did my starter about six-month ago and it wasn't too hard of a job. The best advise from me to you is to look online for a Bentley's repair manual. Around fifty dollars for a new one or you could try Amazon.com, used books section for around half the price. Just to make sure it's the starter and not the ignition switch, try running a wire from the positive side of the battery to the small wire running to the back of the starter and tough the connector with the live twelve volts, to see if this engages the starter. If it does engage and turns the engine over, than I would suspect the ignition switch. The way I see it with my four Saab's that I have on the road today is, The body work and other related components are in good condition and the car is paid for so a few hundred dollars a year isn't too bad compared to a monthly car payment. Plus, I haven't seen anything out there for sale new that I really feel safe in and handles as well as a SAAB.-87/9000t -91/900s auto - 92/900t auto - 96/900s. All have over 180.000 miles on them. Whats saves me a lot of money is the fact that I do all the work on them. Get the book for a start since their not too hard to work on them. Good Luck!
