I've done this swap only a couple times, and 15-20 hours sounds about right to me as well. It's a good 8-10 hours getting the old out and the new in, and then several more dealing with the shifter and the pedals. My advice would be to break the project up over 2-3 weekends so a) you don't get burned out, and b) you don't make mistakes. Limit yourself to 5-6 hours of work per day or weekend and you'll be much happier in the end. Also, try to combine other jobs with this work - even though it adds both time and expense, changing a crankshaft seal (for example) with the engine out takes 20 minutes compared to the hours of torture trying to do it in the car. When you're done, having a bunch of new stuff under the hood to match the new transmission makes the whole thing that much more rewarding, and it will absolutely save you time and money down the road. That, IMHO, is a kickass sales pitch, too.
