I think you should try changing out the inner driver grease. When the car is cold, the joint is cold. When the engine warms up, the engine warms up the transmission case, and the transmission case heats up the inner driver grease. I've noticed a similar version of that out here in very cold weather. When things are cold, the grease is very stiff. If I were you, I'd pull the ball joint bolts, remove the inner driver clamps, and pull the shaft out, clean out all the old grease, and re-lube it. Especially on the passenger's side (right-hand-drive terminology here, starboard otherwise) the grease gets baked by the exhaust manifold until it breaks down. That's my $15 bet.
