Hood release is a pain in the butt. Pushing on the hood didn't work. I thought the cable may have stretched, but extra tension on the cable with a plyers didn't pop it. I grabbed the cable with vice grip and tied off to the door lock. I had to lift up pretty hard but the hood came loose so the cable mut be mega stretched. I'm going to keep the hood unlocked for now. Any suggestions on this?
1. The car is back firing on all 4.
2. There is oil in odd places. I guestimate that I lost <0.5 quart of oil recently due to "something." It is pooled on the valve cover and looks like spray toward the heat shield. That is the burning smell. Crank seal?? Is this related to a piston not firing for ~20-25 mi? I watched it for awhile and accelerated to 6k a few times. No sign of any oil going anywhere. I will keep a strict measure from now on along with miles driven. The smell of burning was faint, most of the oil must have come off the hot spot. There is no collection under the car, however.
