It's true, they are the same and that is a molybdenum coating. Saab had some reason for coating only those two balk rings and only one shift fork but I've never heard what that reasoning was. I always just accepted that Saab thought those components were subject to greater stress and wear (?) and that the molybdenum helped them hold up. Some guys say that the moly flakes off and wrecks the bearings so they put 4 uncoated rings in when they build. I always just built them as Saab intended and didn't see any premature failures. Cheers
