The 84T had solid disks and better pressure distribution. I could just about pick up the rear end of the car before the front end slid...perhaps it was just better weight transfer. The 84T also had more boost...or maybe I was just younger.
The 87T just didn't have the same bite (does now with Hawk pads) or seem to have the same stopping power, also it takes a heckuva lot more foot power to lock the fronts. I'm running Michelin MXV4 tires in the summer on the 87T, used to run Pirelli P600's on the 84T..granted the Pirelli was a stickier tire.
It just seemed like the 84T had a better system.
