To play it safe, change your oil and filter every 3000 miles. Any filter will be fine if you are on a budget and change the oil and filter at the appropriate intervals. I get my filters in bulk from eeuroparts.com. That way I always have them on hand. Under $50 for a case and shipping is free. I have always used Mobil-1 in all my cars. It's reasonably priced if you get the 5 qt. jug at Walmart. I believe you'll need four quarts for an oil change. I use Amsoil MTF in my gear box. Others recommend Redline MTL. I'm sure you've come across the Bently recomendation if you've searched the previous posts. This is really personal preference. If I recall, this car is new to you. If you are not sure when the gear oil was replaced last, best to have it done.
