Nick, thanks for the 411.
Never seen a Turbo 900 with excess retard/boost on either of my turbo's, until now.
Agreed, not fuel (pressure/flow, car revs to 5k with no load). While the car "shell" is an 89, they entire drivetrain & wiring/control is 87....my son totally the 87 car, we bought a creampuff 89 NA/auto off eBay and converted everything from taillight to headlight...quite the job. I believe he has the LH2.2 according to my Bentley.
Static timing is dead nuts on. He borrowed a light in Rockford IL and it sits right on the mark at idle at 16 deg...but I'm not sure he disconnected the vacuum advance. He is currently driving into Bloomington to search for another loaner light and recheck.
Plugs, wires, AOK, color and ohms. Oil also AOK, nothing there. From quick view of my Bentley, he's not going to be able to do a distributor disassy., looks like a bench job. He CAN however with the light connect/disconnect the vac advance to see what occurs. IIRC the entire flywheel is not degreed, only a narrow range for timing setting, so unfortunately about all he can see is direction.
Thanks for the insight on retard/boost, a new one to me.
