I just paid major bucks, $12 plus, for a bottle of this to try on an admittedly already dead GM auto tranny in my mom's Delta 88. Didn't do a thing for it.
I bought it because I'd read people praise Lucas stuff on here. But I was underimpressed by the packaging, some wild claims ("coats the bands" ? !), and mainly by the stuff - - STP-thick gooey oil. It's like magic - - if it's thick it must do something.
How on earth does it work in a tranny that's based on needing a thin fluid to pump? My expectation would be that to do anything a tranny fix would be the same viscosity as the ATF, and that it would have in it some hydrocarbon solvents to soften and rejuvenate the rubber of hardened seals, and maybe something to swell the friction material on clutch pack disks.
Snake oil if appearance counts for anything.
